From the
First Class
On-Board Table Service an
Original
White Star Line
"Triple Dish"
Totally
Original
Absolutely No Restoration
$4500
E-mail
Titanic Mementos
This is the very famous and
very rare "Wisteria" pattern triple
serving dish
that was probably
used for table service
hors d'œuvres.
Exactly
the same items were used on board the Titanic and other ships
of the line including the RMS Olympic which is where
this probably came from!
Steamship china is much
valued as most of it carries the shipping line logo
as this one does. The pattern work and gold
detailing are exceptionally good for an item that is
100 years old.
The bowl is exactly as
manufactured - it has not been restored.
The back stamp showing the
original registration numbers is to the left and
also shows the ship's victuallers name "Stonier &
Co. Ltd, Liverpool.
This is a true and very rare example
which very, very rarely comes on the open market.
At the Henry Aldridge
auction in September 2007 a dish exactly the same as
the one offered here and very, very heavily
(and poorly) restored from a reported smashed
condition with very poor enamelling was sold for
$2500!
As with all Titanic related
items this will appreciate in value over the coming
years and can be considered an excellent investment.
I need not say it is not to
be missed!

An Original Stevengraph
Woven in Silk
Titanic Postcard
signed by a RMS Titanic
survivor B.V. Dean
depicting the
RMS Titanic
it is in wonderful
condition,
no tears stains
etc -nothing!
US$ 8999
This
item is by far the rarest of Titanic postcards, the
crème de la crème of post cards.
Added to this is the
signature
of a survivor to boot!
It is very hard to value something like this.
This type of card is known as a
Stevegraph and is woven in fine silk was made in
very limited quantities by the
Stevengraph Works
of Coventry, England and would have been sold in
the barber shop of the Great Ship, the place to get
souvenirs’!
Very, very few postcards of this type are known to
exist today.

White Star Line
RMS Majestic Book
$925
which includes full postage
and insurance anywhere in the world!
The book is original and almost 9 inches
wide, 7 inches deep and 5/8 inches thick.
It is of substantial manufacture.
There are no inscriptions of defacements and
was produced when the Majestic was built.
There are many interior photographs which
are real photographs, not printed.
The cover is hard card, stiff and robust and
the 32 (double sided pages are printed on
card with a photograph on alternative pages.
The photographs show the level of luxury
particularly in the first class areas with
shots of the cabins and public areas such as
the Palm Court, the Restaurant, Drawing Room
etc.
In the back of the book there are lists of
the services available - American,
Australasian, Canadian and the tenders used
(Nomadic and Traffic - the same that served
the Titanic). Principal Offices and agencies
of the White Star Line are listed.
The book is in excellent condition with no
tears or rips but with age foxing as would
be expected.
It
is
a a real gem, a lovely and exceptional item.

White Star Line
First Class Sugar Shaker
and in totally, totally mint
condition!
$599
From my personal collection I have for sale an EPNS
(Electro-plated-nickel-silver on brass)
lighthouse-style, White Star Line, sugar shaker with
top finial.
As may be seen in the photographs, the incised White
Star Line burgee is very, very clear and the top of
the shaker removes to allow the placing of sugar to
reveal a very clean inner.
It does not look as this
shaker has ever been used.
It is in excellent condition with no loss of plate
and only shows signs of usage consistent with its
age in fact I have never seen a better example.
This is a high level item that will grace any White
Star Line / shipping collection.
Similar items would have probably been on board the
Titanic.
The Elkington date stamp on the base is “T” with a
pattern number of 24787.
The item is approximately 6. 25 inches tall and 2.75
inches base diameter.
It weighs 9.45 ounces (approx 270 grams).
A lovely collectable that will display extremely
well from one of the sister ships of the Titanic.
Note well: I have not polished this item for a
while – to the next owner, please, please, please,
do not use any abrasive cleaner on this item. A wash
in warm soapy water, dry and a rub over with a
wadding based cleanser will be fine and will show

White Star Line
Mint Condition
Solid Silver Cup
from the S.S.
Arabic
SOLD
From my personal collection I have for sale
this lovely mint - condition solid silver display
cup with its original display case that would have
been sold on-board the ship. As may be seen from the
photograph the enamel burgee is in tip top
condition.
The Arabic was sunk in 1915 so this item is
(give or take) 100 years old! See later!
This is a high level item that will grace any White
Star Line / shipping collection.
Similar items would have probably been on board the
Titanic.
The item is approximately 1 5/8inches tall and 1 3/4
inches across the top and 1/1/4 inches base diameter.
It weighs 34gms without the box and in the box it
weighs 75 gms.
The makers name is in cipher "TW". The assay marks
(an Anchor and Lion) indicating Birmingham England
with a date stamp of "d" indicating the year of
manufacture as 1903.
The box is original with a fitted cut-out for the
cup to sit in and, as would be expected, it does
show some rubbing consistent with its age. Both the
hinge and the clasp are in perfect condition.

A Rather Nice
"Reed & Star"
White Star Line EPNS (electro-plated nickel silver)
Waisted
Toothpick Holder
US$
299
from my personal collection
we have a lovely used-on-board toothpick
holder.
You can even see where the
toothpicks sat on the inside!
(There is a very small ding
on the back of the holder at the base of the upper
portion.)
It is an Elkington plate
item with a "k" date cipher denoting 1922 (see
picture to the left) which is thought to have been
possibly
related / attributed to the
R.M.S. Majestic.
The top bowl , at its
widest point is 2 1/4 inches with a similar overall
depth and would have stood on the first class dinner
tables.
As with all of these items
they display extremely well and have a "high-end"
feel to them as befits the best shipping line ever
to sail.
